Why the phone is the harder problem
A laptop gets closed. A phone is in your hand at the exact hour your judgement is worst, which makes it the device a block most needs to cover.
It is also where in-app browsers live: a link tapped inside a social app opens a browser you never configured, which is why device-level filtering beats anything browser-specific.
What Kellet will do on Android
Stated in the future tense because that is the truth: the Android app is in build and arrives at the end of September 2026. Until then Kellet cannot protect your phone, and no wording on this page should suggest otherwise.

The honest gap
Two gaps, and the first one is ours. Kellet does not run on Android yet, so if your phone is the device you need covered tonight, buy something else or wait until the end of September.
The second is the platform's. On-screen detection, which flags explicit imagery by what is actually displayed, does work on Android: it reads the screen through the accessibility service and checks each frame on the device itself. It also drains the battery and needs a permission that can see everything you do, so Kellet ships it switched off and leaves the choice to you.
What is worth a second look is anyone doing that quietly. A blocker reading your screen should say so plainly and let you refuse.
What Android permits, and the trade that comes with it
Android does not let an app filter traffic simply because it would like to. Device-wide filtering runs through the VPN slot, which is the only mechanism the platform offers for seeing traffic from every app, and that has one consequence worth knowing before you install anything.
Android allows exactly one active VPN at a time. If you already use a VPN for work or privacy, you and it are competing for the same slot, and whichever connected last wins. This is not a limitation any blocker can engineer around; it is how the platform is built, and a product that does not mention it is hoping you will not notice.
The filtering itself is local. Traffic is inspected on the device rather than routed through somebody else's server, which means your browsing is not being shipped somewhere to be categorised, and the VPN slot is being used as an API rather than as an actual tunnel to a remote endpoint.
The routes around it on Android
The same honesty applies here as on any device you own. Android safe mode starts the phone with third-party apps disabled. A second user profile, or a work profile, is a separate space that your install does not cover. And a factory reset removes everything.
What Android does better than desktop is make those routes conspicuous. Booting into safe mode is a deliberate hold-and-confirm, adding a user profile is several screens deep in settings, and a reset wipes the phone you are holding. None of them happens by accident, and none of them happens in the four seconds that actually matter.
The gap that does catch people is a second device. A phone locked down while a tablet sits unprotected in a drawer is the most common failure in this whole category, and it has nothing to do with Android.
