Web history and app usage

Every site your devices visited and how each app is used, with the filters that narrow them down and the daily app limits you can set.

Web history

Every site visited on your devices, allowed or blocked. The tiles at the top show sites visited and blocked over the last 24 hours, the top category and the busiest device.

Filter by search term, category, device, and All, Blocked or Allowed. Each row shows the site, its category, the device, whether it was blocked, and when. The menu at the end of a row offers Block this page and blocking the whole site, both straight away.

What each device records

  • A PCrecords the full address, the page title and the browser.
  • A phonerecords which site each app connects to, and the full address in the major browsers. It sends them in batches, and holds them while it is offline.

App usage

Screen time today against your seven-day average, how many apps were used, and how many are limited or blocked. Below that are the top apps today, a split by kind of app, and a Usage and limits table showing each app’s time today and this week, its daily limit and its rule.

On a phone, app usage needs the Usage access permission, and it updates about every fifteen minutes.

Daily limits

From an app’s row menu, choose Set daily limit: 15 or 30 minutes, or 1, 2, 3 or 4 hours. A limit counts on each device separately and resets at that device’s midnight; when it is used up, the app is closed for the rest of the day.

Setting or lowering a limit applies straight away. Raising or removing one waits out your rule cooldown. The same menu blocks the app outright, straight away, or unblocks it, which waits out your rule cooldown.

Common questions

Can my partner see my web history?
Yes. Every partner sees your web history and app usage, read only.
Why does a phone show sites I never opened?
Apps connect to sites in the background, for adverts, updates and the like, and a phone records each site an app connects to.
