The device list
Every device has a card showing its agent version, whether the agent is reporting, its status, when it was last seen and when it was activated. Your devices are also listed in the left-hand menu under Devices, where a device that is on its way to being removable shows a countdown.
Enroll a device adds another; Refresh reloads the list.
What each status means
- Protected.Kellet is installed and enforcing your rules. The device list calls this Active.
- Locked. The device is locked right now, by a schedule or by a consequence from repeated detections. It unlocks by itself when the time is up, or earlier if you ask your accountability partners and one of them approves. The device’s page says why it is locked and how long is left.
- Awaiting installation. The device was started but has not finished connecting: an installer that has not been run or approved, or a phone pairing code that was never used.
- Removal requested. You asked to remove Kellet and the uninstall cooldown is running. The menu shows how long until it is removable in.
- Re-locks in.The device is removable now, for one hour. After that it protects itself again.
- Removed.Kellet has been uninstalled from the device.
Reporting in, and going quiet
A PC checks in every minute and counts as reporting if it has been heard from in the last five minutes. A phone checks in about every fifteen minutes and counts as reporting within thirty.
If a device has not checked in for 24 hours you are told {name} has stopped reporting to Kellet, and again when it comes back. Your partners are told too. A device that is switched off is not a problem; one that has gone quiet while in use is worth a look.
A single device’s page
Choose a device to open its own page. The header shows its system, agent version and when it was last seen. Below are tabs for Overview, Activity, Web history, App usage and Apps, each limited to that device.
The overview shows what was blocked today, screen time today, the top category, the last check-in and flagged attempts over the last 14 days. Lock schedule opens Schedules and Settings opens Rules: both apply to every device, not just this one.
Naming a device
You name a device at the moment you add it, on the page that confirms it is connected. The device page in the web app does not have a rename option.
