Step by step
- Download the installer from your account
In Kellet, choose Enroll a device in the left-hand menu, pick Windows and press Download Kellet for Windows. It runs on Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit, and the download is about 340 MB. Download it from your own account rather than from a link someone sent you.
- Run it and approve the administrator prompt
Windows asks for administrator rights once. Kellet installs a Windows service, which is what keeps blocking running when an ordinary program is closed. If Windows shows Windows protected your PC, choose More info and then Run anyway, having checked that the file came from your account.
- Choose Install
The Kellet Setup window says what it is about to do: block the sites and apps you choose, report what happens on this PC, and take time to uninstall. Choose Install. It takes about a minute; do not turn the PC off while it runs.
- Approve the PC in your browser
Setup opens your browser on the Approve a device page. Sign in if you are asked, check the device name and system it shows, and choose Approve and link. Nothing is blocked on the PC until you approve it.
- Restart when setup asks you to
Setup finishes with Restart your computer to finish. Until you restart, websites may show a security warning. Choose Restart now, or Restart later if you are in the middle of something.
If no browser opens
Setup shows an eight-character code instead. On any device, sign in at kellet.app/link-device, type the code and choose Find this device, then approve it as above. A code lasts ten minutes; if it runs out, setup gives you a new one.
Naming the PC
Once you approve, the approval page offers a Device name field. If you started from Enroll a device, the same page shows Connected! with a name field too. That name is what the device list, the left-hand menu and your activity show.
If something goes wrong
- Approval was refused.Somebody chose I did not start this on the approval page. Nothing was linked, and uninstalling is free while a PC is unlinked. Run the installer again to start over.
- This PC cannot reach Kellet.Setup could not get online. Check the PC’s internet connection and any VPN or proxy, then try again.
- This PC is already linked.Kellet is already installed and linked on this PC. If it is an older version, setup offers to update it instead.
- Linked, but that device has not checked in.The approval went through but the PC has not collected it yet. Make sure it is switched on and online; it usually catches up within a minute.
- Your trial or plan has ended.Linking a device needs an active trial or plan. Choose one on the Billing page, then approve the PC again.
- A work laptop refuses the install.A PC managed by an employer’s IT department may block installers outright. There is no way round that which is not also a way round every other rule on that machine.
