Protecting, supporting, or both

One Kellet account can protect your own devices, support someone who protects theirs, or both. Supporting is free and has no trial; the trial starts with your first device.

Two ways to use one account

You can do both from the same account, and start or stop either one whenever you like.

  • Protect your own devices.Every account starts here. You add a device, choose what to block, and get the whole app: Overview, Activity, Rules, Consequences, Cooldowns, Schedules, Partners and Billing. Your 14-day free trial starts when you add your first device, not when you create your account.
  • Support someone.Accept an invitation from somebody who protects their own devices and you become their accountability partner. Supporting is free, always. There is no plan to choose and no trial to start.

If you only support someone

An account that supports someone and protects nothing of its own shows only the people it supports, your notifications, your profile and help. There are no devices, rules or billing of your own to look at, because there are none.

Open a person to see their activity. If you are their steward, or they let you manage their cool-downs, you also see their changes that are waiting out a cooldown. Manage appears only if they have let you change something, and it shows only what they allowed.

Nothing on your own computer or phone is blocked or watched.

Protecting and supporting

An account that protects its own devices and supports someone keeps the whole app, and the people you support are under Supporting in the left-hand menu.

Starting to protect your own devices

From an account that only supports someone, choose Protect my own devices at the foot of the left-hand menu. Adding your first device starts your 14-day free trial, and the rest of the app appears.

An account gets one trial. If you have had one before, protecting a device again needs a plan.

Common questions

Do I need a plan or a trial to support someone?
No. Supporting is free for as long as you do it, and it never starts a trial.
Does signing up start my trial?
No. Nothing counts down until you add your first device, so you can set up your rules first without losing any of your 14 days.
